World's Oldest Person Lives on... Bacon And Eggs? Wins At Life!
Not doctors. Not fitness. Not even the all-glorious kale. What does the world's oldest person credit with her longevity?
Bacon. Yes. Bacon. And eggs. Bacon and eggs.
Bacon and eggs. I'm just repeating so that you don't misunderstand the story. The world's oldest person has made it this far... with bacon and eggs.
Susannah Mushatt Jones is the world's oldest person, and celebrated her 116th birthday on Monday. One hundred sixteen!
Born on July 6, 1899, Susannah picked cotton with her father in Alabama before moving to New York to become a nanny in the 1920's. She's lived through two world wars, 19 presidents, and witnessed the birth of automobiles, planes, computers... all of modern technology.
Though she went blind 15 years ago, the only medication Miss Jones takes is for high blood pressure. The secret to her long life?
Bacon and eggs.
Every morning Miss Jones has a breakfast of several strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, and ground corn. She also has a sign on her kitchen wall: "Bacon makes everything better".
It surely does, Miss Jones. It surely does.
And now you know, folks. According to the world's oldest living person, the secret to a long life is as simple as a daily dose of bacon and eggs. Booyah.
Miss Jones has also refrained from smoking and drinking throughout her life. We put this at the bottom because the lead, once again... is bacon and eggs.
