Austria Fed Up! Plans to Deport 50,000 Syrian Migrants...
Does it seem like we've been talking about the refugee crisis for forever? Yeah, because it's that bad. Europe screwed up letting so many un-vetted migrants into their countries. Not that they had much choice, thanks to the EU (see European Union Plans to Fine Countries... For Refusing Refugees). According to the European Union, national security? Racist. Or mean, at the very least. Same can be said for silly "independence." Still, some countries realized they've made a huge mistake. So they're backpedaling. This is what it looks like...
Last September [Austria] opened their borders to hundreds of thousands of people fleeing conflict and poverty across Africa and the Middle East. Despite an outpouring of sympathy for their plight, there has been growing public concern about crime and security, forcing the government to pull back from the open-door policy.Austria is to step up the deportation of migrants by sending at least 50,000 home... Over the next four years. The number of asylum claims would also be capped at 127,500 during that time.
While American politicians praise Europe for its open borderness, Europe is scrambling to give their new friends the boot. And no, that's not code for designating Italy as a migrant safe house. It seems Europeans learned their lesson. It took getting blown up a few times, sure (26 Dead in Brussels Terror Attack. You #PrayForPeace, I'll Pray for Wisdom and Resolution...), but whatever it takes. Good on our across-the-pond-ers for inching towards progress. Baby steps.
The funny part? Leftists, who usually lavish praise on "progressive" European countries, suddenly skewer those same countries for deporting dangerous migrants (see REBUTTAL: Moron, Michael Moore Insults Brits. 'You Sound Like Trump!'). They turn on countries they previously praised because said countries want to protect themselves.
Sorry leftists. Nations have the right to defend themselves. Especially from Islamic refugees.
