The Associated Press has discovered something that will shock the Middle East to it's very core. Israeli hospitals - get this - don't turn away Palestinian children. Oh. My. Allah.

The fact that Israel grants any permits is somewhat surprising given the years of hostilities with Hamas, an Islamic group sworn to Israel's destruction. Israel has no direct contact with Hamas and coordinates all movement through the rival Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said granting access to Israeli hospitals was "fundamentally" a humanitarian matter. "This is an ongoing policy. That has been the policy for decades," he said. Israel even treated a daughter of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh last year.

If you read the AP piece, you'll find an overwhelming tone of shock and surprise.

Who other than a leftist douche-canoe would find this surprising? That Israeli hospitals would treat enemies in a humanitarian way?

As far as those of us without our heads up our very large posteriors, shocking would be Hamas or any other Islamic Extremist group treating their enemies humanitarianly (yes I know it's not a word). Or, treating them at all.

This is the fundamental difference in the two sides involved with this centuries old conflict. On one side, you have a bunch of barbarians who would rather rape a child's mother and behead their father in front of them instead of giving them a band-aid.

On the other side is Israel.
