Angela Merkel is making headlines again, and this time it isn't for bringing tons of terrorism into her country. She turned a few heads by arriving in Saudi Arabia sans headscarf. In case you aren't familiar, Saudi Arabia hates all things women and women's hair, so they enforce head covering rules.

Rather than cave in to political correctness and multiculturalism, Angela decided to raise a middle finger to Saudi culture and maintain her westernness. Yes, THAT Angela Merkel (see Angela Merkel: 'Germany is Ravaged by Terrorism... But We Want More Refugees!'). Strutting about with ones hair out is strictly prohibited. So to meet the Saudi king with a scarf-less scalp? Takes some brass ones. We, here at LwC, are far from fans of the German chinless toad. But credit where due...

German Chancellor Angela Merkel did not adhere to the strict Saudi Arabian dress code for women during talks with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Sunday.

Saudi law generally requires women to wear a full-length robe and cover for their hair in public places, but Ms Merkel became the latest in a succession of female Western politicians to leave their hair uncovered on her visit to the Western city, Jeddah.

The German Chancellor said she raised human rights concerns with Saudi leaders. As well as conferences with the country's rulers, Ms Merkel also met with Saudi businesswomen.

"I have the impression that the country is in a phase of change and that a lot more is possible now than some years ago, but it's still a long way away from having achieved what we would understand as equality," she said.

As it turns out, she isn't the first wimpy she-hag to magically discover her spine in the face of the Saudis. Apparently Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton refused the head blankie of oppression as well during their visit to the Middle East. However, this is just the latest in a string of anti-Islam actions Merkel has been taking (see FED UP? This is something worth noting for the people of Germany, who have long suffered under her embrace of multiculturalism. It could be the mark of a significant change in the Chancellor's attitude regarding Islam.

Too little too late? Time will tell. But, at this rate, anything Merkel does that isn't kissing Muhammad's posterior is news.
