'Most bizarre investigation': Man arrested in possession of buckets of human remains he bought off Facebook

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I had thought I had already read some of the most disgusting and depraved stuff the human race had to offer, but I was mistaken. I must add to the list the story of a man who collected thousands of dollars worth of stolen human remains.

This story was brought to my attention by a fan of the show, and while I appreciate the tip, there are some things in this world I think I'd be better off not knowing about. But it turns out, if you look hard enough, I guess, you can find people on Facebook who deal in stolen body parts, and Jeremy Pauley found himself a hookup. After being tipped off about the illegal sales occurring on Facebook messenger, police located a mass of human remains in Pauley's basement.

Among the remains were three full skeletons, 20 skulls, "multiple 5-gallon buckets containing 'human organs'" such as "a human heart, brains, livers, skin and lungs," in addition to several other parts.

According to Newsweek, the remains were from bodies donated to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. So, I suppose we can be thankful someone isn't running a some kind of murderous organ-harvesting operation somewhere... Or at least that's not the case here, as far as we know.

After the university has done whatever they do with the bodies, they are sent to Arkansas Central Mortuary Services for cremation. An employee of the service apparently decided turning the remains to ash was a waste of a profitable product and stole the remains to sell on Facebook.

Pauley has been charged with abuse of a corpse, receiving stolen property, and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity.

Now, if you'll please excuse me, I'm going to go vomit...
