Jessica Chastain Just Used the Las Vegas Shooting to Push a Failed Gun Control Movie
The competition is fierce for the fastest celebrity "hot take" when tragedy occurs (see Pat Sajak Slams Dumbass Celebrities with One Clever Tweet and Ariana Grande Calls Las Vegas Shooting 'Terrorism,' Calls for Gun Control). What do you do when you're Jessica Chastain? You use the Las Vegas shooting to promote your failed anti-gun movie, Miss Sloane (h/t The Federalist).
I can't with these people.
We wrote about the failed film back in December. A quick refresher: the American movie going audience had no interest in 120 minutes of leftist talking points about guns. And when we say the move bombed? We mean that in the most bombastic sense. It was the MOAB of all flops.
Miss Sloane earned less money per theater than Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Shaun the Sheep Movie, Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace, and Gigli.
As to Chastain's other points:
Six months for an X-Ray? Where does this dummy think she is, Canada or the United Kingdom? Contrary to how hard the left is trying, this country doesn't have single payer yet. But good to know six months for an X-Ray is too long. Does this mean Jessica will campaign against single payer?
Also, buying an AR-15 is slightly more complicated than your doctor sending you down the hall saying, "Here, put this on." As any gun owner can tell you, buying a gun takes a lot longer than 5 minutes. Depending on the state, it can take weeks. But never five minutes. Or ten.
I'm impressed with a person's ability to wake up, load Twitter truly believe this is an appropriate use of < 140 characters. Celebrities should stick to scripts and TelePrompters.
