The Kelly File recently held a panel where people discussed the aftermath of Dallas. Some black power groups and activists have been heralding the shooter as a hero. Those people are, in fact, irrelevant dirtbags. There are also some people who want cops to be gone, just not in the dead sense. Those people are morons, for obvious reasons (see Idiot Chicago Protestor Wants to 'Defund the Police'...Misses HUGE Irony). Some of which we'll detail later. The panel featured one such activist, from Chicago, who fervently insisted that we should abolish the police. Yes, as in the people who put their lives on the line to protect us. That police.

Activist: We need to abolish the police. Period. Demilitarize the police, disarm the police, and we need to come up with community solutions for transformative justice.

Megyn Kelly: Who's going to protect the community if we abolish the police?

Activist: We need to come up with community solutions.

A community that polices themselves sounds nice... But it seems highly unlikely for some reason. And by "some reason," I mean lots of reasons. Namely the fact that we've tried something like that before. Baltimore PD scaled back on policing in 2015. The result? An utter crapfest from hell. Even the people who claimed to loathe the cops wanted them to come back (see Baltimore Rioters Now Want Back The Police They Hated...).

This is an especially bad idea as it relates to the safety of black communities. The activist says it herself, black on black crime is a huge problem. With no police to mitigate crime, who's to stop gangs from running amok? Who would shoulder that responsibility at the risk of death? Yeah, the answer is nobody. Nobody besides... well, the people who comprise the police force already.

Look, we know the police aren't perfect. The police know the police aren't perfect. We also know that the police are pretty darn effective when it comes to dealing with crime. I don't want to live in a society without them. Mostly because I'm not a fan of being mugged, raped, and shot. All things that skyrocket in the absence of police. Improving PD policies and procedures is one thing, yes. Abolishing the police? Whole other ballpark, and not a good one. Unless you're into unfettered violence and barbarism. In which case, might I suggest relocating to a place more suited for you - like Pakistan.

This attitude is just plain silly. And it hurts the law enforcement community. Sure, she's not advocating for police killing, but her ideology does nothing but help to spur on anti-police rampages (OPINION: This is What Happens When You Malign Cops). Why do BLM activists want to exterminate the police? Because they think they're racist and unfairly targeting blacks. But the police don't target black people - they target crime, and well... Draw your own conclusions. Or just take a gander at the facts.
