Real Heroes: NYPD Protects Time Square From Active Bomb Threat...
Want to know why we say #BlueLivesMatter? Because of these two heroes from the NYPD.
Someone threw a bomb in their car. Instead of jumping out of the car and letting it detonate - in Time Square - they risked their lives by driving off and getting away from the most populated area in New York City.
Thankfully, the bomb was a fake. But the heroism was real.
"We were scared, we thought we were gone," Officer Peter Cybulski said this morning at a news conference. "But we weren’t going to put others in danger."When the suspicious package landed on the vehicle's dashboard, Cybulski turned to Sgt. Hameed Armani and said, “Boss, this is a bomb," Armani recalled.
"I looked around, saw a lot of kids, a lot of young people," said Armani, who emigrated from Afghanistan to the U.S. 10 years ago.
"We’re gonna go, but I'm not gonna have anybody else go with us," Armani said.
Cybulski was holding the device in his hands as they drove "as fast as possible" to a secluded location.
"If it happens it happens, but I'm not gonna stop here," Armani said.
So thankfully this was just a bomb scare and not an actual bomb. Of course these cops didn't know the package was just a package until after the fact. When it didn't blow them up into a million, tiny pieces. That is, typically, how one distinguishes a fake bomb from a real one. At least nine explosions out of ten.
Which is what makes these cops the genuine article. Rather than throwing the mystery box out the window, rather than jumping out of the car to save themselves, these men put the petal to the metal to make sure no one was in the blast radius. Let's also note they didn't drive to Harlem in hopes of blowing up black people. So two narratives busted in one go. This is going to be a good day, I can tell.
The next time a #BlackLivesMatter protest breaks in to anti-police chants, especially in New York City, remember this story. But please, no matter how much you may want to, don't throw fake bombs. Or real bombs. Sure, they're fun to joke about, but even the fake bombs can be pretty freaky-deaky.
Speaking of #BlackLivesMatter and how they lie all the time, check out this video. All of their memes. Debunked. That's how we roll.
