Oklahoma Governor Vetoes Bill Banning Abortion. But Here's the Bigger Picture...
There's been a lot of newsy abortion posts this week (see Patricia Heaton Tweets Pro-life Message. Pro-‘Choice’ Leftists Rage! and Pro-Life Win! South Carolina Bans Abortion After 19 Weeks…), but this story out of Oklahoma tops the list. The Oklahoma legislature just passed a near told ban on abortion, that would include a prison sentence to any doctor who performed one. Governor Mary Fallin has vetoed the bill.
A bill that would make performing an abortion a felony punishable by three years in prison passed the Oklahoma legislature on Thursday, shifting controversy surrounding the measure on to the state’s anti-abortion leader, Governor Mary Fallin. The bill, which opposing legislators say is patently unconstitutional, is almost unprecedented in modern times: a near-total ban on abortion. If it becomes law, any doctor who performed an abortion, except to save a woman’s life, would face criminal prosecution and the loss of his or her medical license. Oklahoma currently has two licensed abortion clinics.
Fallin, who is widely thought to be under consideration as Donald Trump’s running mate on the Republican presidential ticket, has not publicly indicated if she will sign the bill. Her office has said she does not intend to comment until it can review the legislation.
Okay, so Fallin vetoed this. But the Oklahoma legislature even passing an abortion ban was a step in the right direction for all of humanity. People having the legal right to kill their children, for any reason, is horrendously evil. Worse, some might say, than the legal right to own another person. Both slavery and abortion are evil.
Governor Fallin gave this explanation for the veto:
"The bill is so ambiguous and so vague that doctors cannot be certain what medical circumstances would be considered 'necessary to preserve the life of the mother,'" said Fallin, a Republican who is considered among the contenders to be presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump's running mate.
Abortion is murder. The end. The notion of killing your unborn child, for any reason, doesn't sit well with us. Because butchering babies. Not a good thing. Yet the leftists who promote the "pro-choice" argument have wrapped themselves in a cocoon of lies. The lies being abortion is some how a nifty choice which promotes autonomy, bravery, independence, ra-ra I am woman. No. Abortion promotes death. Spare me the Planned Parenthood talking points. A baby is not your body, it's an independent body. Children conceived via rape are still children. No, I don't think you should be legally allowed to kill your unborn child if it has a birth defect. Because yep, still a human person. Lastly, no, abortion is never needed to "save a woman's life." That's bovine feces.
You people who support abortion are sick, many of you are evil, and many of you are completely brainwashed to the pro-abortion movement. Also, no, we shouldn't keep abortion legal because people will get abortions anyway and don't we at least want it to be safe. Imagine that argument applied to rape. Rape is illegal. Should we make it legal so rapists could at least rape in a sterile environment?
No, of course not. Making something legal because people will break the law anyway? If you say such things, you're mentally challenged. Do not operate machinery.
Yet this move to make abortion illegal will likely meet challenges from pro-abortion devils who want to keep their precious sacrament of baby killing, while lining their pockets with baby-part dollars. Still, that Oklahoma made the first move toward a ban? That's progress. We'll take it. Even if it is later vetoed by the governor.
Yes, abortion is a cash cow. Here, educate yourself:
