Hilarious: Hillary Squirms when Asked 'Difference between Democrats and Socialists'?

Brodigan
January 06, 2016

It's funny watching Democrats unable to explain the difference between Democrats and Socialists. Debbie Wasserman Shultz had a fun time doing so, but at least she did better than Hillary Clinton.

This is painful. Funny as hell. But painful.

Matthews then asked, “What’s the difference between a socialist and a Democrat? Is that a question you want to answer, or would you rather not?”

“Well, see you’d have to ask—” Clinton said before Matthews interjected.

“See, I’m asking you! You’re a Democrat. He’s a socialist. Do you like someone calling you a socialist? I wouldn’t like someone calling me a socialist,” Matthews said.

“Well, you see, I’m not one,” Clinton replied.

Matthews still wasn’t pleased with the answer.

“Well, what’s the difference between a socialist and a Democrat?” he asked. “That’s the question.”

“Well, I can tell you what I am,” Clinton said. “I am a progressive Democrat.”

“How’s that different than a socialist?” Matthews fired back.

Clinton didn’t answer, but only said she’s a Democrat who “likes to get things done.”

Hand it to Chris Mathews. Questions like this are usually only reserved for Republicans while Democrats get away with saying whatevs.

And to answer the question, there is no difference between a modern Democrat and a socialist. But here's why it matters that Clinton doesn't want to admit to being a socialist: it's bad politically to admit to socialist leanings. Why? Well, thankfully, even after how far we've slipped down the slope, most Americans still believe socialism to be wrong for America. That's the good news. Well, sort of. We still have Bernie Sanders. However Bernie Sanders is also known as "Senator Not Clinton."

The bad news is not enough people are calling out Clinton for refusing to admit modern Democrats and liberals are socialists. Oh sure, we are here, of course. But not enough people are saying "If you can't tell me the difference between a modern Democrat and a socialist, doesn't that mean you're a socialist?" Then following up with "doesn't that mean you think individuals are idiots and need to bend to the will of the collective, such as the government. Or bend over a table when your husband comes along."

Whoops. Trigger-warning: Bill Clinton is kind of a rapist.

Make no mistake, Hillary Clinton IS a socialist. She does not believe in your individual rights, she believes in government control. If Hillary had it her way, we'd all be wearing pantsuits. Pretty sure she'll sign an executive order.
