Ted Cruz might be moments away with a little war with Trump. Rising in the polls, taking support from Dr. Ben Carson, Cruz is quickly becoming a formidable candidate to contend with. Well, at a donor event, someone recorded Cruz discussing strategy regards the media and both the Trump and Carson campaigns:

"You look at Paris, you look at San Bernardino, it's given a seriousness to this race," Cruz said. "People are looking for who is prepared to be a commander in chief. Who understands the threats we face. 'Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button?' Now that's a question of strength, but it's also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them. So my approach, much to the frustration of the media, is to bear hug both of them and smother them with love.  I believe that gravity will bring both of their campaigns down, and the lion's share of their supporters will come to us."

Wow. That was about as nice of a strategy somebody could possibly outline. Just stick to principle and be really, really nice. Everyone should appreciate that, right? Well, let's come back to the analysis after we mention how Donald Trump has handled it:

"Fall like all others" kind of sounds like something a Bond villain might say, no?"At last, Mr. Bond! You will fall like others! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Then again, Lao Tzu probably couldn't just use dad's money and file bankruptcy four times.

Heretofore, Cruz has been delicate while commenting on his opposition. Now comes this wrinkle where he's telegraphed his strategy. Of course the little audio we do have must be taken with a grain truckloads of salt. But he did admit he thinks both the Trump and Carson campaigns will tank, with Cruz being the beneficiary of the candidate-seeking voters. Probably true. Think about it, who do you know who's excited to vote for Jeb Bush? Or that one guy...what's his name... John Killstick. Lipstick? Ketchup? Drawing a blank.

Trump will go on attack. The question is not if but how? For in Ted Cruz you do not have a shrinking violet but a skilled debater and Grade-A conservative. The Tea Party likes Cruz. A lot. Conservatives overall like Ted Cruz. A lot. Attacking Cruz isn't going to be as easy as "He's a loser" or "Frankly, that Ted Cruz, he's stinks. He doesn't take my calls."
